The law firm of Gold & Robins, P.C., is a full-service defense
litigation practice. Founded in 2001 by
Alan S. Gold, a partner, and
Tanya M. Sweet and
Sean Robins, associates of the former firm of
Monaghan & Gold, P.C., the four members of the firm have more than
three-quarters of a century of experience successfully defending a wide variety of
civil law suits. (See
Practice Areas for
more details.)
The firm, known as Gold, Butkovitz & Robins,
P.C. through the end of 2005, previously included attorney and Pennsylvania
state legislator Alan L. Butkovitz as a partner. Mr. Butkovitz, who had
been a representative in the Pennsylvania state legislature for 15 years, was
elected to the office of Philadelphia City Controller in November, 2005, and has
since assumed that position. Due to the duties and responsibilities as
City Controller, as of January 1, 2006, Mr. Butkovitz has no longer been a member of the
firm.
Although saddened that he is no longer a
member of the firm, we are thrilled by his success, and wish him the best for
the future. He will be sorely missed.
The firm is also aided by the talents of
Steven M. Zelitch,
Esquire, Carol A. Weil,
Esquire, and Franklin A. Wurman, Esquire, of counsel.
Whether retained by insurance carriers, or privately retained, the attorneys
of Gold & Robins have handled thousands of cases over the years, with
extensive experience in many complex areas of the law. The philosophy of
the firm is to be active rather than reactive in litigation; to always strive
for the end-game in litigation, be that dismissal on preliminary objections or a
motion to dismiss, or following a period of discovery that is always geared
toward a motion for summary judgment. We strive to provide an aggressive
approach geared toward the pre-trial dismissal of litigation whenever possible.
While no one can guaranty any particular result in any particular piece of
litigation, we always provide our defense clients with an honest and realistic
view of the likelihood of pre-trial dismissal as early on as possible, and
always keep our clients as fully informed and educated about their litigation as
desired.
Unlike many law firms, client are always kept "in the loop," with full and
easy access to their counsel whenever the need may arise. Regular and
written status reports can be provided on whatever basis, and in whatever form
the client desires. For the really involved client, weekly (or more
frequently if desired) telephone status reports can be provided, and clients who
appreciate the opportunity to maintain "hands-on" contact with their litigation,
are encouraged to become as involved as they wish. We too appreciate the
contact, and the insight of those who are in the best position to understand the
sum and substance of each individual piece of litigation: The Clients.
